Definisi : Simple Present Tense adalah bentuktense yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan sesuatu yang terjadi saat ini (present) pada suatu spesifik waktu. Karena terjadi pada waktu sekarang, maka pasti menggunakan kata kerja pertama (verb 1) dalam susunan kalimatnya

formula :
(+) S + V-1
S +/- auxiliary (do/does) + bare infinitive
ex. : She likes eating out

(-) S + auxiliary (do/does) + not + bare infinitive
ex. : She doesn’t like eating out

(?) Do/Does + S + bare infinitive
ex. : does she like eating out?

penggunaan you, they, we menggunakan "are"
contoh :

(+) they are exo

(-) they are not exo

(?) are they exo?

1. explain our (daily) activities.
example: she bakes a tray full of banana cupcakes.

2. stating facts.
example: she leaves work early in the afternoon.
